CHOCOLATE COLD WATER CAKE

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. soda in 1/4 c. boiling
water, use glass measuring cup
1 c. cold water
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3 whole eggs, beaten in mixture 1 at
a time
Cream together the sugar and shortening. Add the cocoa, salt and then stir in
the soda in the boiling water. Add the cold water, cake flour, vanilla. Last
add the eggs. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, 9 x 13 pan.
