LOUISE S BLACK MIDNIGHT CAKE

1 c. Crisco or oleo
2 1/2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. hot coffee
1 c. cocoa
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. vanilla
Cream Crisco, sugar, and eggs together. Sift dry ingredients together and add
alternately with hot coffee to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Bake at 350
degrees 40 to 45 minutes or possibly longer. Makes a big cake. Use loaf pan
and another pan smaller than loaf pan.
